Each message has the following main properties:

Property	Values	Description
Level	Message	Messages are displayed over a green background
	Warning	Warnings are displayed over a yellow background.
	Alert	Alerts are displayed over a red background.
	Alarm	Same as Alert but an alarm sound will play continuously.
Mode	Acknowledge	After the message has scrolled once, the user will be able to acknowledge the message and any following message's scroll by pressing the ü button. The Pigeon Clients and Generators always send messages in this mode.
	Continuous	The message is displayed continuously until it will be canceled by the Pigeon Server. The client's ü button will be disabled.
Lifetime	One shot to connected users	The message will be sent to currently connected users. Continuous mode cannot be used with this lifetime.
	Repeat at every client's login	The message will be sent to currently connected users as well as users who will connect later. The message will be displayed again the next time the client will connect to the server.
	Once to every users	The message will be sent to currently connected users as well as users who will connect later. After acknowledging or canceling the message, it will never be displayed again. Messages with this lifetime are recorded into the Client's Windows registry, under HKCU\Software\Tech-Noel\Pigeon\Client\Message\<messageID> where <messageID> is the Pigeon Server's name appended with the message number.

Each message level may activate an audible message to the client. This audible message is configurable by the client and will only be heard at the first posting of the message (the messages are posted repeatedly in the client's scrolling banner until acknowledged or cancelled).
