Pigeon Client application

When a message concerns you and should be read, the Pigeon Client's main window will appear at your desired position, which you configure in your Options:Positions window.

banner

The message may have one of 3 indications:
·Announcement message (over a green background), is normally used to send information to users;
·Warning message (over a yellow background), is used to advise users of potential problem;
·Alert message (over a red background), is used to alert users of any immediate problem.

The Pigeon Administrators may send a fourth message level: Alarm message (over a red background), is identical to the Alert message but a continuous alarm sound will be heard.

You can configure the sound that will be heard for the delivery of any message type (except Alarm) within the Option:Sounds configuration window.

After you have read the message and if the OK button ok_button is enabled (not grayed out), then press it to acknowledge the message. If the message has been configured to appear only once, it will never be shown again. Otherwise, it will reappear the next time this client connects to the server which sends the message.

If no more message concerns you, this window will be hidden.

pigeon_on
As long as your Pigeon Client remains active (ready to receive messages), an icon will be shown in the Windows status bar.
pigeon_off
If a problem occurs with then Pigeon Server, the icon will turn red for visual notification.

Note:
Your Pigeon administrator may hide your Pigeon Client icon by the use of policies.
