Connect Pigeon Servers Together
Previous  Top  Next

The main purpose of the Pigeon Gateway is to make a full network of Pigeon Servers and synchronize the data between them. By using this configuration, you can virtually connect an unlimited number of Pigeon Clients together.

When data is sent to a
Pigeon Server (from a Client, an Admin or a Remote Generator), this data is sent to the Pigeon Gateway for distribution to all other Pigeon Servers connect to the network. These other Pigeon Servers will treat the data as if it was received from their own connected Clients, Admins or Remote Generator.

NOTE:
In order to reduce the load of the Pigeon Servers, all User and Machine information are not synchronized between the Pigeon Servers. This means if you want to know if a user is connected, your Pigeon Admin must be connected to the according Pigeon Server. This applies to the User and Machine policies as well.

By default, the
Pigeon Server will connect to Pigeon Gateway using the default TCP port number 3102. To use another port number, you must run the Pigeon Gateway Configuration module (see the Pigeon Gateway Configuration help file for more information) and configure the Pigeon Server accordingly.

You must configure your
Pigeon Server to make use of the Pigeon Gateway. See the Pigeon Server Configuration help file for more information.
