Changing policies

When configuring the Pigeon Server, you can define global client's policies. These policies are applied to every Pigeon Client that connects to the server. However, you may change or assign policies on a per user or machine basis.

To modify a machine or user policy, right-click on the machine or user from the List view to bring the contextual popup menu and select policies. Te Policies window will appear:

The identification section is filled with information about the select List view item.

The policies that can be changed are:
·Send message permission: Shows or hides the client's Send message menu item.
·Exit client permission: Shows or hides the client's Exit program menu item.
·Password protected options: Disables the password required (if enabled by the global setting) to change the client's options. If no password has been defined by the server global settings, it cannot be created for this user or machine.

Selecting Default for any policy will not modify the applied global settings.

To apply the changes only for the current session only, hit the Apply button. To make the changes permanent, hit the Save and Apply button.

The order the policies are applied to the Pigeon Client are the global settings first, then the stored machine settings (if any), finally the stored user settings (if any).
